Please be aware that scammers are contacting residents advising them that National Grid is the new account holder for “Lake Worth Utility”, which is false

The scammers advised at least one customer that her last three payments had not been transferred and that her service would be cut off if she did not deposit cash into a Quick Stop ATM machine located at 1302 North Dixie Highway, which she unfortunately did while the scammer remained on the phone with her to confirm the transfer.

Lake Worth Beach does not conduct business in this manner and does not instruct customers to use an ATM machine to make a payment.  If you, a neighbor, or a friend are contacted with a similar sounding request please hang up and contact our Lake Worth Beach Utility Customer Service team directly at 561-533-7300 to confirm the status of your account. Do not call using any phone number provided to you in a phone call or message other than our official phone number 561-533-7300.  You should also contact the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office 561-586-1611 and make a report with them.

Please share this message and let’s work together to prevent scammers from doing this to our community.
