Mimi May has proudly served as the District 3 City Commissioner for Lake Worth Beach since April 2024. With a deep passion for community engagement and a steadfast commitment to public service, she is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
As a middle school math teacher with 27 years of experience in conflict resolution and problem-solving, Mimi values fiscal responsibility and transparent governance. She actively ensures that every voice in the community is heard and respected.
During her tenure in Lake Worth Beach, Mimi has championed initiatives that strengthen the city's unique neighborhoods. She has been an integral part of the Neighborhood Association Presidents’ Council (NAPC) for over five years and currently serves as the City Commission liaison to this vital group. Mimi fosters collaboration between the city and the NAPC, celebrating the diversity and goodwill of our residents.
Beyond her work as a commissioner, Mimi loves spending time on the water. Whether snorkeling, diving, or simply enjoying the beauty of our coastal community, she embraces the outdoors. She lives in College Park with her husband, Tom, and their three rescue dogs: Charlie, Barkley, and Ella.
Mimi is committed to building a brighter, cleaner, and greener Lake Worth Beach and is working tirelessly to position the city as the arts destination of Palm Beach County.
